Cranberry Beans Recipe - Healthy Vegetarian Recipe
Healthy Vegetarian Recipes is always challenging to prepare. To include both the components of "healthy" and "vegetable" in a dish, most of the times, its a hit or miss.
However, with this particular vegetarian recipe, the scenario is always pleasant.

Ingredients:
1. Cranberry Beans: 250 gms
2. Oil: 2-3 tablespoon
3. Cumin Seeds: 1/2 teaspoon
4. Onion: 1, big sized, puree
5. Tomato: 2, big sized, puree
6. Ginger and Garlic Paste: 1/2 teaspoon each
7. Turmeric Powder
8. Chilli Powder: as per taste
9. Salt: as per taste
Method
Step 1:
Heat the oil in a pan on medium flame and add the cumin seeds.
Step 2:
When the seeds start to crackle, add the onion puree and stir it well for 2 minutes. When the puree turns light brown, add ginger and garlic paste, turmeric and chilli powder respectively, stirring everything for a minute.
Step 3:
Now, add the tomato puree and salt as per taste. Stir it well then add the cranberry beans. Mix everything properly, cover the lid and cook the dish on low to medium flame for 2-3 minutes.
Step 4:
After those 2-3 minutes are up, open the lid and check whether the cranberry beans are perfectly cooked or not. Once it is cooked, check the consistency of the gravy. If its in a perfect thick consistency, turn off the gas as the cranberry beans are ready to be served.
You can enjoy this healthy vegetarian recipe wth jeera rice, plain rice or even pulao.
Bonus Tips
1. Whenever you add onion in the dish, be it chopped or puree, make sure you always sprinkle a pinch of salt on the onion for it to change its colour quickly, be it golden brown or light brown. This tip works best if you are in a little bit of a rush.
2. If you might have noticed, I do not use a lot of masala in my dishes. That is because, I tend to make use of a good amount of onion and tomato puree, which makes my food look like I've used a lot of masala, but in reality, its just the puree that does the trick. When you use less masala, the food also becomes a bit healthier.
